Principal’s Message

Dear Parents:

Welcome back to the 2016-17 school year! This is the tenth year that Jorge Mas Canosa Middle School has been providing an excellent education to our students.
We have many exciting educational programs and initiatives we are starting this year. Please be sure to attend our JMC Open House  – September 20th at 6:30 PM –  to find out about all the programs and resources we will have available for your child this year.
I am pleased to inform you that we have reorganized our main parent group into a Parent Teacher Organization which gives our JMC community more control of the administration of services and funds generated for the benefit of our students. Please become an active member of the JMC Parent Teacher Organization.
This year make sure that you join in and participate in one or more school events, such as; our annual Harvest Fair, a Barnes & Noble Book Night, the Winter Holiday concert, our Talent Show Night, the Paladin Brain Bowl, sharing “Coffee With the Principal” and an Honor Roll Assembly, to mention just a few of the opportunities you will have to be a Paladin Parent!

Sincerely,

Elio Falcon, Jr.

Principal’s Message

Dear Parents:
Welcome to our incoming sixth grade class and new students.  I am looking forward to a great school year.
Last year we implemented 11 new initiatives, and with the continuous support of our parents, and teachers our students made great gains and I feel confident that we will continue to excel.  We went from a low “C” to a high “ B”, and we missed the “A” by 11 points. This year we implemented Biology so that the students taking Geometry would continue to have an aligned curriculum as they enter 9th grade.
I would like to invite all our JMC parents to our monthly “Coffee with the Principal” gatherings. Last year, these informal meetings gave us an opportunity to gain further insight from the parents’ perspective. It was a pleasure to recognize the Cambridge Booster Parents and the Parent Teacher Association Board at the last Coffee Talk in June 2014.  It is with the support of our parents and community members that we can continue to meet the needs of all of our students.
I look forward to meeting you and working together during the 2014-2015 school year.

Sincerely,

Elio Falcon, Jr.
